For all the laundry haters, there is now an Uber-ish mobile application Laundrapp for doing laundry, and they are expanding their services across the globe and might consider entering the Pakistani market.
Laundrapp, a U.K.-based laundry startup is planning to expand its business in 13 markets, with providing services in Australia and New Zealand this month.
The mobile based laundry service is a haven for those who hate doing laundry or don’t have enough time in their busy schedules. All a user has to do is to book an order, wait for their people to show up at your door and then wait for them to deliver your clean clothes.
Pakistan is moving towards achieving digital empowerment using mobile phones. The success of Uber and Careem in the Pakistani market can be used as the evidence that people are open to the various services that provide solutions using mobile applications. Being a developing nation with increasing broadband and 3G/4G subscribers, Pakistan can serve as a lucrative market for Laundrapp.
The concept of online cleaning service is not new in Pakistan as services like Dhobi Online and Cleanry already exists in the country. Dhobi Online is an Islamabad-based service whereas Cleanry exists in Karachi. They aren’t mobile based services, as one has to call them to get their bookings done.
