LG G6 is speculated to be unveiled on April 7 in the U.S. – like its Canadian counterpart – but if rumors are to be believed then there is a possibility that a network operator in the country may soon begin taking preorders for the handset.
While some reports suggest that the LG G6 will be hitting the U.S. shelves on April 21, publication Android Central has revealed that Verizon Wireless is set to start preorders for the LG G6 soon. The publications cites people who are in the know.
The publication shared an official document from Verizon to support its assertions. The internal document from the carrier notes that the LG G6 preorders will kick off on Friday, March 17.
LG G6 Offers From Verizon
The internal document from Verizon which reads” introducing the new LG G6 and LG-exclusive promotions” reveals that the Google Home speaker worth $129 will be offered for free to those who purchase the smartphone. This news has been confirmed by the company as well. This will be available as part of Verizon’s Unlimited and any others plans per the leaked document. New lines, as well as those subscribers who are upgrading will be eligible.
The document also shares that subscribers of Verizon who will update an existing plan may also get $200 for trading in certain devices.
To lure new subscribers, Verizon will apparently offer a 43-inch LG Smart TV $349.99. The promo offer also includes the Switcher offer of $650 for the customers who are on other carriers and will shift to Verizon. The carrier will reportedly offer the FIOS bundle promo to new subscribers, which is worth $500.
LG G6 Price?
Speculations of the smartphone’s pricing have been swirling online for a while now. The publication reports that the LG G6 will cost $672 on a two-year contract. This works out to $28 per month.
Previously it was expected that LG G6 may be priced in between $600 to $700 in U.S.
The LG G6 has already gone on sale in home country South Korea on March 10. In the first day of release itself, the smartphone notched up 20,000 units of sales. This figure will be seen as an encouraging sign from the company.
The LG G6 has been speculated to release in the U.S. on April 21, which is a week before the Samsung flagship Galaxy S8 hits the U.S. shelves per rumors. If the latest leak bears fruition, then the LG G6 may arrive on other U.S. carriers such as AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile soon as well, which will give the company a head start over rival Samsung
